Description: Location & Overview: A four hour flight from Europe, Sal Island is the tourist centre of Cape Verde. The Vila Verde Resort emulates a small colonial village amidst luxurious green areas. This is achieved through a balance between urban structures, along an exclusively pedestrian axis, and green community areas with private swimming pools. Layout: Plazas, meeting points and leisure spaces are strategically placed along the pedestrian boulevard. Retail, services, food and beverage are randomly distributed along this axis, thus creating an old village environment. From the entrance, a main road distributes traffic in a ring that causes no interference with the pedestrian axis. Areas with higher buildings are located inside the ring. Lower density zones on the outside areas establish a transition to the waterfront and the protected dune landscape. The central area along the pedestrian axis will be divided in 13 gated communities with apartment blocks around private open gardens and swimming pools. The Apartments & Villas: The apartments will be one, two and three bedroom with balconies and terraces. Low density exterior areas will have two types of buildings – i) 3 & 4 bedroom villas with private pools, and a central country club: ii) 2 & 3 bedroom townhouse units, and a private club and pools. Resort Info: A hotel plot is located opposite to the main entrance, next to the dune and close to the sea front, on a very visible spot, at the end of the pedestrian axis. The resort will have parking places, on the villas and townhouses plots, and also a large number along the roads and under the pedestrian boulevard. The resort will also accommodate a supermarket, tennis courts and a botanical garden. |
