Description: Cotton Bay Resort located in a coastal area of Algodoeiro is developed in a completely different way from other existing projects in Cape Verde. This outstanding and ambitious project will also be one the first developments on Sal that introduces a number of measures as part of an eco-compatible programme, for example; there will be a high ratio of natural green area to development area, salt water will be used in all the water features as well as an onsite nursery where indigenous plants will be cultivated for sole use in the resort. The development’s first class sports facilities, laid back lifestyle and luxurious surroundings have been carefully designed to appeal to the growing tourism sector whilst still respecting and working with the natural environment and landscape. The resort will include a 36 hole golf course as well as a marina and harbour that will boast 600 yacht moorings. An exclusive, seaside resort ‘shore area’ will be specially created alongside the marina and the architecture of the residences here will mirror the traditional, colonial buildings that are found on Sal island. The ‘shore area’ will be complemented by a beautiful promenade that will be constructed on the inner side of the harbour, which will link all of the resort’s commercial spaces as well as its leisure facilities, casino, bars and restaurants. Also central to the resort will be the waterways that will enhance and harmonise the development. There will be lakes, waterfalls and streams dotted about the golf course and residential areas. Cotton Bay will be made up of 10 key residential areas - all sympathetically designed to reflect the country’s culture and personality. Many of the villas will enjoy an enviable front line beach location and will range in size from 120m² to 350m² with 2, 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms. The apartments and duplexes of 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms will be light and spacious with terraces and/or gardens and a communal swimming pool. Around the marina, the properties will have the feeling of a traditional harbour village. There will also be a Cape Verdean Village which will include the resort’s main shops, bars and restaurants.
